As a result of the current credit crisis, banks have withdrawn from higher risk lending. A few years ago the market was awash with deals for people with poor credit, but the last deals were withdrawn a few weeks ago.

Platform offer a couple of deals for people with minor blemishes on their credit records, but with rates fixed at over 8% you would pay a heavy price.

Your best bet would be to save as large a deposit as possible and work at improving your credit file, by paying debts off and making sure you pay your bills on time. That way you may be able to get a mortgage in the future.

    Try HOMEBANK fs ,I was in the same position and they helped me buy our first home and helped us repair our credit,far more help than the the high street.
