Free Credit Score Offers Are Not Created Equal

Are you stumped by the various credit score services out there? There’s credit reportservices where you can obtain your information from one credit bureau. Other offers allow you to see your credit report from all 3 credit bureaus. Trans Union, Equifax, and Experian. This is important because the information contained in one credit bureau report may not match with what’s on the others. Also, various creditors may choose to see one or more of your credit files. So it makes sense to get the most comprehensive report. And most services do not provide a free FICO score. You only get to see what’s on your normal credit scores. But a FICO score is not the same as your normal credit scores. It uses different set of rules for coming up with your FICO score. Most lenders utilize the FICO report to determine your creditworthiness. Therefore it may be prudentto obtain your FICO report before asking for a mortgage loan. Another feature that these offers provide is identity theft monitoring. With some offers you only get the bare essentials while others provide total identity theft monitoring prevention. These are some of the reasons why it makes sense to make comparisons between the features of these services. A great site for free credit score services where a simple to read credit score comparison chart exists is a nice start.. A blog about credit reports may also be useful.
